If you’re looking for a simple way to add some farmhouse charm to your front door this Christmas, we’ve got the perfect project for you. Our Christmas Bells Door Hanger is full of greenery, gold ornaments, and rustic wooden bells that make your entryway instantly festive. Plus, it’s easy to make, budget-friendly, and doesn’t take all day to put together.

We walked through the whole process step by step in this video—watch here: DIY Christmas Bells Door Hanger.

Why We Love This DIY Christmas Project

There’s something so welcoming about a door basket at Christmas. The rustic bells peek out from the greenery, the gold ornaments sparkle in the light, and the bow adds just the right finishing touch. We love that it’s classic, timeless, and works for almost any style home, whether you’re farmhouse, modern, or somewhere in between.

The best part? You don’t need a ton of supplies or expensive materials. We used a basket from Michaelswooden bells from Walmart, and a few simple accents to get a polished, professional look.

What You’ll Need to Make it

Here’s what we used to make ours:

  • Basket (we found ours at Michaels)
  • Rustic wooden bells (from Walmart)
  • Floral foam to anchor everything in the basket
  • Pine greenery
  • Gold ornaments
  • Berries or other accent stems
  • Ribbon for a festive bow
  • Hot glue gun and floral wire

That’s it! Floral foam is key here, it helps everything stay in place and makes the basket easy to hang on your door without worrying about the stems slipping.

How to Make a Christmas Bells Door Hanger

Here’s how we put our door hanger together:

Start with your basket:
Pop your floral foam into the basket. You want it to fit snugly so everything stays in place while you build. You may need to use a little hot glue to get it to fit securely.

Layer the greenery:
Add your pine branches next. We like to let some of the greenery hang over the edges a little, it gives it that full, natural look without trying too hard.

Add ornaments and berries:
Tuck in your gold ornaments and berry stems. Move them around until it looks balanced and festive. Don’t worry about making it perfect, the little imperfections are what make it charming.

Attach the bells:
Place your rustic wooden bells where they peek through the greenery. We used floral wire to make sure they stay put.

Finish with a bow:
Add a ribbon bow on top to give it that festive touch. You can keep it simple or try a stacked bow for a little extra wow. We even have a quick tutorial on stacked bows here: How to Make a Stacked Bow – Easy Bowdabra Bow Maker Tutorial.

Hang and adjust:
Hang your basket on your front door or entryway, step back, and give the greenery a little fluff. Move ornaments or the bow around until it looks just right.

Quick, Affordable, and Festive

We love this project because it’s easy, affordable, and full of holiday charm. The rustic bells and gold accents feel festive but not fussy, and the floral foam keeps everything secure so your door hanger stays looking great all season long.

It’s perfect if you want a Christmas decoration that’s welcoming, beautiful, and simple to make. You could even make a few for multiple doors or windows!
