We absolutely loved making this one together, and we know you’ll enjoy it too. Let’s dive in!

What You’ll Need to Make a Summer Floral Door Hanger

Here’s everything we used to create this show-stopping summer door hanger:

  • Moss-covered wall cone (You can usually find these at craft stores or online — they add the perfect natural texture!)
  • Floral foam (to anchor your stems inside the cone)
  • Button grass greenery (adds height and texture)
  • Hot pink geraniums (for a bold pop of summer color)
  • Orange ranunculus (soft, ruffled petals that feel oh-so-sunny)
  • Small yellow filler flowers (to add that finishing touch and make the whole thing come to life)
  • Wire cutters and hot glue gun (always our trusty sidekicks!)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Start with the Base

First, grab your moss-covered wall cone and add your floral foam. Cut it to fit snugly inside, and secure it with a little hot glue if needed. This gives your stems something sturdy to anchor into and helps your arrangement stay put — even if the wind picks up a little on your porch.

2. Add the Greenery First

Begin by inserting your button grass greenery into the foam. This step is all about building your shape and giving the arrangement that wild, wispy look we all love in summer designs. Let some of the greenery trail out of the top and sides to create movement and flow.

3. Place Your Focal Flowers

Next, take those beautiful hot pink geraniums and orange ranunculus and start adding them in. These will be your main focal points, so space them out and make sure the colors are balanced from top to bottom.

We like to keep our flowers facing slightly forward and outward — that way, they greet your guests with a big, friendly “Hello!” the moment they walk up to your door.

4. Tuck in Filler Flowers

Now it’s time to sprinkle in your small yellow filler flowers. These little beauties fill in any empty spaces and give your design that extra layer of texture and brightness. Think of it as the icing on the cake!

Don’t be afraid to adjust as you go — that’s part of the fun. This summer

Design Tip From Us

We always recommend taking a step back every now and then while you’re working. Hang your door hanger up temporarily and look at it from a distance. This gives you a better idea of where you might want to add a little more fullness, height, or color. And don’t worry — there’s no such thing as perfect in floral design. If you love it, it’s beautiful!
