With the holiday season right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to let your creativity sparkle. If you’re looking to add a bit of glamour to your holiday decor, I’ve got a fabulous project for you: a pink and gold Christmas wreath that promises to dazzle anyone who sees it! It’s super easy to put together with everything you need right from Walmart. Let’s jump into crafting this stunning wreath step by step.
What You’ll Need to Make a Glam Christmas Wreath
Here’s a quick list of what you’ll be grabbing from Walmart:
- Wreath Base: A 24″ snow-flocked or lighted pine wreath to get you started.
- Embellishments: A show-stopping large pink butterfly and pink accents.
- Ornaments: A mix of pink and gold shatterproof ball ornaments.
- Flowers: Pink blingy poinsettias, because who doesn’t love a little sparkle?
- Ribbon: Wired, to create fabulous bows.
- Tools: Wire Cutters, Floral Wire, and Glue Gun (Here is the link to our Grace Monroe Home Glue Skillet!)
Step 1: Fluff Up Your Wreath
First things first, take that 24″ snow-flocked wreath base and fluff up those branches. This step is all about giving your wreath a fuller, more inviting look. The snowy texture of the base adds a whimsical, wintry charm right away.
Step 2: Add Some Flair with Mesh
Here’s where the fun starts. Take your deco mesh and several 10″ to 12″ curls. Go around the outside of the wreath adding the mesh and along the inside. Use wired ribbon and make a stacked wreath bow. Wired ribbon is your best friend here because it holds its shape and gives your wreath that extra volume and flair. Go ahead and attach these bows evenly around the wreath using floral wire.
Step 3: The Star of the Show – Butterfly Time!
Now, it’s time to place the large pink butterfly. This bold, beautiful piece can sit right at the top or shift it to the side for a quirky twist. Secure it well with floral wire. This butterfly is basically your wreath’s crown jewel!
Step 4: Sprinkle with Ornaments
Let’s dive into the ornaments now. Mix and match those pink and gold beauties, with different sizes and textures to keep things interesting. Use a hot glue gun to secure them onto your wreath. I like to think of them as little pops of joy dotted around, creating a cheerful and festive look.
Step 5: Flower Power
Next, it’s time to add those pink blingy poinsettias. These flowers add a fabulous burst of color and glamour and work as the perfect fill-ins to balance your design. Tuck them in wherever you find a little gap or feel like your wreath needs a bit more glamour.
Step 6: Final Adjustments
Take a step back and admire your beautiful design. How does it look? If there’s any spot that feels a little empty, just add another ball ornament or accent. Check that everything is securely attached – you want it to withstand any gusts if you’re placing it outside!
