If you are looking for a fun and delicious dessert to celebrate Memorial Day or Fourth of July, then we have the perfect treat for you! This patriotic ice cream sandwich cake is so yummy and festive, and a great way to cool down on a hot, summer day!

You only need a few, simple ingredients to make this ice cream cake. The star of the show…ice cream sandwiches!

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE A PATRIOTIC ICE CREAM SANDWICH CAKE

  • 9×13 pan
  • Ice cream sandwiches
  • Parchment paper
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Cool Whip

To make this patriotic ice cream sandwich cake, you first need to line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper. Then, arrange a layer of ice cream sandwiches so that they cover sandwich pan completely.

Next, spread a layer of whipped cream over the ice cream sandwiches, and then add your desired amount of chocolate syrup on top. We also added patriotic sprinkles to ours, but this step is optional.

Place your pan in the freezer for approximately 30 minutes to set. Then, add a second layer of ice cream sandwiches on top of the whipped cream, making sure to arrange the ice cream sandwiches so that they completely fill the pan.

Spread a final layer of whipped cream on top of the ice cream sandwiches, and then arrange your fruit so that it looks like a flag.

We used blueberries for the “stars” and raspberries for the “stripes” on our patriotic ice cream sandwich cake but you could also use strawberries in place of the raspberries. Once you have the fruit arranged to look like a flag, place in freezer for 2 hours, or until ready to enjoy!
