Spring is in the air, and it’s that wonderful time of year when we start to think about renewing and refreshing our surroundings. Easter, with its themes of rebirth and renewal, is the perfect time to spruce up your home décor. At Grace Monroe Home, we love embracing the creative charm of the season, and this week on our “Flower Friday” show, we’re excited to show you how to breathe new life into last year’s table arrangement with a fresh Easter twist. Watch our step-by-step tutorial on YouTube here.
How to Give Your Floral Table Arrangement an Easter Makeover:
In this tutorial, we show you exactly how you can take something old and transform it using artificial flowers and greenery with minimal effort and cost. This spring DIY project not only spruces up your table but also lets you make use of some of your existing materials, reducing waste and saving money—a win-win all around!
Step-by-Step Transformation
Materials Needed:
- Last year’s artificial floral arrangements
- New artificial spring flowers in vibrant Easter colors
- Easter bunnies and eggs for decoration
- Glue gun or a glue skillet (we used our Grace Monroe Home glue skillet)
- Wood containers and floral foam
Step 1: Assess What You Have Begin by examining your table arrangement from last year. Typically, you will find that the artificial greenery often remains intact, offering a solid base to work from. Remove any elements that may have faded or become dusty. They’ve served their time and made space for new, vibrant blooms.
Step 2: Prepare Your Containers We used wood containers filled with floral foam as our base. The floral foam provides easy anchoring for the stems. Make sure your containers are clean, and the foam is fresh if it’s been around for a while.
Step 3: Incorporate New Florals The core of your new arrangement will be the spring artificial flowers. Choose blooms such as tulips, daffodils, and lilies. Their lively colors—pastels and bright hues—evoke the essence of Easter and complement the existing greener.y
Step 4: Add Seasonal Accents To truly capture the spirit of Easter, add in some charming Easter bunnies and eggs to your arrangement. You can find these at most craft stores. These features bring a cheerful and festive touch.
Step 5: Assembly Using your glue skillet or glue gun, gently secure the stems and decorative elements into the foam. Begin with the tallest elements towards the center and work your way outwards, adding layers of texture and color around the perimeter.
Step 6: Finishing Touches Finally, take a step back and ensure that your arrangement is balanced and to your liking. Adjust any elements until you are satisfied with the harmony of the colors and shapes.
Celebrate the Season
Transforming your table arrangement for Easter isn’t just about the end result—it’s an enjoyable process of bringing together elements that speak to the season’s joyful spirit. This makeover not only enhances your space but also provides a wonderful backdrop for gatherings, offering a literal and metaphorical breath of fresh air.
