How to Make a Wreath Using Flip Flops

Here is what you will need to make this DIY flip flop wreath:

To make this flip flop wreath, I used seven pair of $1 flip flops in assorted colors. I wanted this wreath to be bright and vibrant for summer so I used all really bright colored flip flops.

First, I took my scrap piece of wood (a yard stick will work) and I laid it flat horizontal on the table. Next, I laid out my flip flops in the position that I wanted them to made sure that I had plenty of “stick” for my flip flops. I only used the left flip flops – you can use the right ones or the left ones, as long as they are going in the same direction.

Then, I used a hot glue gun to glue the flip flops to the wood stick. You will need to use a generous amount of glue when you do this! I also overlapped the flip flops by about an inch, and put some extra glue where the flip flops overlapped.

After I had all of my flip flops glued in place, I added a few embellishments. This is all up to your personal taste. I added some colored jewels and daisy flowers. To attach these I just used a dab of hot glue. I also got some small wood letters from Walmart and painted them with acrylic paint. I then created the word “WELCOME” on the flip flops and glued with hot glue.

To hang my flip flop wreath I used a long piece of colorful ribbon (approx 24 inches) and hot glued one end of each side of the wood stick to make a “hanger”. To dress it up a little I made a little hand tied bow and glued it to the center of my “hanger”.

There you have it! This flip flop wreath is super cute and inexpensive to make…plus it is so easy! Watch the video below to see exactly how we made it.
