So let’s gather your supplies and create a little sunshine for your front door!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 20″ Moss-Covered Grapevine Wreath (we got ours from Craft Outlet)
  • Faux Sunflowers – bright yellow with realistic centers
  • Pink Geraniums or Petunias – for a pop of feminine color
  • Orange Florals – small blossoms or mini roses for contrast
  • Small Filler Flowers – in white, yellow, or coordinating tones
  • Greenery – button fern or similar soft, natural foliage
  • Two 1.5″ Wired Ribbons – in coordinating summer colors
  • Bowdabra Bow Maker – Watch how to use it here
  • Grace Monroe Home Glue Skillet – Get it here
  • Wire cutters, floral wire, scissors

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prep Your Moss Base

We started with a 20″ moss-covered grapevine wreath from Craft Outlet. These wreath forms give you a beautiful, organic look and are a great base for gluing in your florals. Be sure to fluff up any moss that might be tucked under and secure any loose pieces with a dab of hot glue.

Lay your wreath flat and position it so you know where you’ll be placing your bow and florals. We’re creating a crescent-style design, so keep the top and inner side of the wreath exposed for that natural elegance.

2. Make a Bold, Beautiful Bow

We used two 1.5″ wired ribbons in bright pink and orange patterns to make a full, layered bow using our trusty Bowdabra Bow Maker. This tool makes bow-making a breeze, even if you’ve never made one before.

We placed the finished bow slightly off-center, at the 10 o’clock position on the wreath. Use floral wire to attach it securely to the frame.

3. Lay Down the Greenery

Now we’re going to add our greenery to set the shape of the wreath.

We love using button fern — it’s soft, wispy, and adds fullness without feeling heavy. Dip the ends of each stem into your Grace Monroe Home Glue Skillet and insert them starting at the base of the bow, following the natural “C” curve downward and outward.

Don’t forget to let some greenery drape to give it a loose, professional look.

4. Add Sunflowers & Focal Blooms

Once your greenery is in place, it’s time for the stars of the show — the sunflowers!

We added several large sunflower stems around the bow, spacing them evenly through the crescent section of the wreath. Then, we tucked in hot pink florals (like geraniums or petunias) and bright orange blooms to give it that vibrant, summer party look.

Each stem is dipped into the glue skillet before inserting into the wreath base. Alternate colors and sizes to keep things balanced and lively!

5. Tuck in Filler Flowers

This is where the magic happens!

Take your small filler flowers — think yellow wildflowers, mini daisies, or tiny berry sprigs — and fill in the gaps. These little touches add texture and fullness that make your design look polished and professional.

Keep checking your balance as you go. You want the florals to flow naturally around the bow in a crescent shape, leaving that moss peeking out.

✨ Finishing Touches

Give your bow one final fluff, trim any long wires or stems, and check for any empty spaces. You can always tuck in a little more greenery or another flower if something looks off.

Then, step back and admire your work — you just made a boutique-style wreath that’s full of joy and color, perfect for the summer season!
