How to Know WHEN to Start Making Your Seasonal Wreaths to Sell!
One of the most common questions people have when starting a business selling wreaths, or any craft for that matter, is WHEN to start working on seasonal inventory that you are going to list to sell. The most important tip to remember is to always stay a step ahead of your shoppers.
You want to always be sure that you have your designs or inventory ready BEFORE your buyers begin their search, so that when the time comes that they are ready, your products are ready for purchase. Often times, your buyer will search around, or “window shop”, for a while before they take the plunge to purchase, so it is important to have your wreaths, or other items, available to browse, so that when a buyer commits, YOUR item is the one they commit to purchasing!
Another good rule of thumb is to check with your local craft stores. If you notice, they seem to be putting out seasonal items earlier and earlier each year, but it is because the demand from consumers is coming earlier, and crafters need to have the materials available to be able to work on their inventory. When craft stores change seasons, it is a good idea for you to start changing your focus and gearing up for the next season.
Here is a schedule that we typically go by to know when to START making wreaths for each season and holiday so that we have our collection ready in time for buyers who are shopping for that season. I hope that you find this schedule helpful! You may need to tailor this schedule to suit your business, for example, if you work on a made to order basis, and your items require more time to complete, you may need to start working on your collection for each season even earlier.
