Our Christmas morning breakfast is such a sweet tradition and one that we look forward to all year long!
Our family gathers together each year for our traditional Christmas morning breakfast. This is one of my very favorite Christmas traditions and one I hope we continue for many years to come! This is a time when we get to come together, enjoy each other’s company, and reflect on the past year.
Everyone arrives at Gigi and Papa’s house pretty early on Christmas morning, usually around eight o’clock, and we don’t waste any time. We get started opening presents soon after we arrive. Of course, this is the children’s favorite part and they are always eager to get started! The kids get to pass out all of the gifts, and we each go around, opening our presents, and letting everyone see what we received. We all tend tend to go a “little” overboard on gift-giving, so this takes us a while!
We always wear our matching family Christmas pajamas on Christmas morning. We try to find a new set of Christmas pjs each year. The girls in the family are much more excited about this tradition than the guys.
After we are done opening all of our gifts, the kids play with their new toys and check out the goodies they received, and we finish up making breakfast. We usually have our Christmas Sausage Eggs already prepped and ready to go, so we just stick those in the oven, fry up some hash brown patties, and make biscuits and gravy. The kids love to drink Hot Chocolate on Christmas morning.
Our house is filled with laughter and joy and it is always such a special time. The kids like to watch Papa make with famous gravy and talk about all Santa brought them that morning. By the time breakfast is ready, we are all hungry and eager to eat!
When the food is ready, we all gather around the table, say the blessing, and enjoy a delicious Christmas morning breakfast. This Christmas meal of sausage wrapped eggs, biscuits & gravy, hash browns, and peach juice is a tradition in our home that we have been making for many, many years. We all look forward to this breakfast!
After breakfast is finished, our bellies are full, and everything is cleaned up, it is time to see what’s in the stockings from Gigi and Papa. The kids love this part of the morning, and always get so excited to see what’s inside!
