Need a quick and super easy centerpiece to make? Well you are in luck, because I have the cutest DIY project for you!
When you live in the deep south, (Alabama girl, here!), mason jars quickly become a part of your everyday life! We use them for sippin’ sweet tea, storing knick knacks, and canning home-grown veggies in the summer.
I had a few unused jars lying around and I thought I would see if I could come up with a cute decoration for my daughter, Olivia’s, bedroom. Olivia (or Livie as I call her) loves all things pink and girly, but I am also really intrigued by the farmhouse trend that is so popular right now, so I thought this pretty DIY mason jar vase would be perfect!
What you will need to make this mason jar vase:
- Quart Size Mason Jar
- Glue Gun/Glue
- Burlap
- Fake Flowers (I used pink daisies)
- Twine
- Scissors
Step One: Wrap your burlap tightly around jar and glue well to the mason jar, then cut off any excess burlap.
Step Two: Take flower head off of stem and and glue to the front of the mason jar, directly onto the burlap. Press down for several seconds and make sure that the flower head is glued securely. You may have to apply a little more glue around the edges of the flower to be sure that it is glued well to the burlap.
Step 3: Take a piece of twine and wrap it around the base of the jar and then cut excess and tuck twine to make it stay in place. You may want to add a tiny drop of glue to keep in place. I went around my jar about 4 times until I got the thickness of the twine that I was going for.
Step 4: Add any flowers that you would like and…tada…you have an adorable mason jar vase! This turned out PERFECT for my little girls room! I think I am going to make another one for my kitchen using sunflowers instead of daisies.
